What are the various types of braces?
Though metal braces or any other types of braces provide the same effectiveness in the treatment, you may still want to go for any other type of braces as it may appeal to you. We will discuss shortly the different types of braces that can be used for the Orthodontic treatment.
1. Metal Braces
Metal braces are still considered as a better option by most the Orthodontist for treatment. These braces have the ability to make the teeth have significant movement with most close predictions. The metal brackets are connected with the thin metal wire at proper intervals in Metal braces. They put the gentle desired pressure on the teeth to move the teeth in the desired directions. On occasional check-ups, the Orthodontist looks after the position of the teeth and adjusts the position of the metal braces to move the teeth in specific direction. The customized appearance of the metal braces with color ties is very nice.
2. Ceramic braces
The appearance of the ceramic braces and the metal braces is the main difference between both the braces. Using the tooth-colored or clear along with the wires instead of the traditional wire is just an option given to the patients. As they work like the metal braces only, there is a need for more traditional wire for the patient to make the necessary adjustments easier.
3. Lingual Braces
If you need the lingual braces then the Orthodontist first needs to check the suitability for this treatment. As the brackets and wires are placed inside the teeth, they are not generally visible from the outer side. As these braces are more closer to the tongue, it may be difficult for the person to talk during the initial days.
4. Clear Aligner treatments
Clear aligners are one of the most complex treatment processes that require an experienced specialist Orthodontist. Every unit exerts minor pressure on the teeth to move it in the desired direction. On many of the situations, the clear aligners are not recommended as it needs to take more extra care.
Which option can be better?
If you want to go for any of the options then you need to consider the suitability of the option by consulting the Orthodontist. A lot of Orthodontist recommends that metal braces are always a better option for any situation.
